Language
English is mainly spoken in Nairobi, and Swahili is the main
language in the rest of the country.
Tanzania Visas
These
can be obtained at the border for most nationalities, but you are
advised to confirm this with the Tanzania Embassy or contact us
before travel. 2 passport size photographs and a passport valid
for 6 months will be required.
Transport
Public transportation is easy to access and certainly not
expensive. Bus services are available to every main city in the
country. And for shorter distances matatus are also an option.
These minivans travel at high speed and are always overcrowded.
There is only one passenger train,
which goes to Mombasa. It is a wonderful experience, since the
train is still in colonial-style. The train only departs in the
evening at 07.00 p.m. from both Nairobi and Mombasa. Enjoy your
diner in the dining wagon. In the morning by daylight, you can
still get the last glimpse of the game in Tsavo National Park,
that youve crossed during the night. (Buses and train can be
booked for you by us)
